‘Ryan Mason to land bargain at West Brom’ as Celtic agree deal
Ryan Mason is pursuing new signings at West Brom this summer ahead of the new season.
The Baggies announced the signing of Aune Heggebo earlier this week, with the striker joining from Brann.
This was Mason’s second signing of the summer, as he looks to turn the Black Country club into promotion contenders.
However, the West Brom manager is not prepared to end his pursuit of new talent here, with a bargain now emerging in the transfer window.

West Brom eye more for free agent Jeffrey Schlupp
West Brom will no doubt be on the lookout for Premier League experience this summer to help with their promotion push.
Now, according to Pete O’Rourke (9 July), West Brom are plotting a move for Schlupp.
The 32-year-old was released by the London club this summer after eight-and-a-half years at the Eagles.
In the latter half of the 2024/25 campaign, he was loaned out to Celtic, where he helped the Glaswegians retain their Scottish Premiership title.
However, before he left, the wing-back made one appearance for Palace in the FA Cup, which allowed him to win a medal by the campaign’s end.
It seems unlikely that Brendan Rodgers will pursue Schlupp this window, given that Celtic have now signed Kieran Tierney.
This could prove to be a bargain for Mason, as the experience the 32-year-old has is immense.
Previously, the wing-back was part of the Leicester City side that won the Premier League.
On top of this, with the transfer set to be on a free, there is little that can go wrong.
Schlupp would be one of the best players in the Championship
While Schlupp is entering the twilight of his career, he still clearly has quality.
The 32-year-old played 34 matches in all competitions last season combined for Palace and Celtic, with two even coming in the Champions League.

Therefore, it is evident that he is still capable of playing at a top level.
If he did move to the Championship, there is no doubt that he would be one of the best players in the second tier, and Schlupp could easily be the difference maker between promotion and staying in the division.
