West Brom predicted XI v Dynamo Kyiv: Ryan Mason to hand out debuts

Ryan Mason has been casting his eye over his West Brom team during their pre-season training camp in Austria.

The Baggies have already kicked off their pre-season with a bang, having defeated Port Vale 2-0 behind closed doors.

Now, they are preparing for another match behind closed doors, this time against Dynamo Kyiv on Friday (11 July).

Aune Heggebo recently completed a move to West Brom and could feature as part of a new look Baggies team.

Nat Phillips and Heggebo set to feature for West Brom

Phillips was the first arrival for Mason this summer, having joined from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee.

The centre back has been pictured in training as the Baggies gear up for the new season and is set to play against Kyiv.

He is primed to partner Torbjorn Heggem in the hub of West Brom’s backline, with Darnell Furlong and Callum Styles on either side.

In goal, Mason is short on options, with just Josh Griffiths and Joe Wildsmith to choose from, but Griffiths could be given the nod.

West Brom possess some eye-catching options in midfield, and Jason Molumby and Alex Mowatt should partner each other in the centre.

Tom Fellows is likely to start on the right, while Mikey Johnston could start on the left, despite his Flamengo move falling through.

Up top, it is more difficult to call, but given the options available to Mason, he could go with two strikers.

Josh Maja is back in training and could start alongside Heggebo, although Daryl Dike is also available.

Of course, Mason may not decide to go full strength and will utilise the match to test the abilities of his squad.

Given the attacking options Mason has available, West Brom News have opted for a 4-4-2 formation.

Mason to run eye over attacking Baggies options

One area of the pitch that Mason will need to decide on is in the striking position, with Heggebo, Maja, and Dike available.

Maja was the West Midlands club’s top scorer last season, although he missed a substantial chunk through injury.

Mason has been urged to keep hold of Maja, who is entering the final year of his Baggies contract.

Then there is Dike, who has shown his quality at times despite also having his injury problems.

Heggebo presents another worthy option up front, and there is no reason why Mason cannot start two of them against Dynamo Kyiv.
