Bany injury concerns raised already after West Brom draw v Dynamo Kyiv

West Brom kicked off their pre-season with a 1-1 draw with Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv.

The Baggies had moments of brilliance in the game, most notably from winger Mikey Johnston, who had previously looked set for a move away from Ryan Mason’s side.

Another player who looked good for West Brom was youngster Tammer Bany, but a potential injury towards the end of the game has already had Baggies fans concerned about potential casualties next season.

West Brom supporters worried after potential hamstring injury for Bany

The second half of West Brom’s game against Kyiv came to life.

Johnston bagged an assist for Nat Phillips’ goal in his first game for the Baggies and fans were left worried about Bany’s knock towards the closing stages of the match.

Bany joined West Brom from Danish side Randers FC in February.

The Danish striker struggled for gametime in a whirlwind second half of the season and consequently struggled to make an impact.

The 21-year-old did, however, come of the bench in Ryan Mason’s first game with the Baggies and looked bright before being forced off the pitch due to a potential hamstring injury.

The striker seemed to visibly hold his hamstring after the incident, with it currently unknown how serious the injury is..

Supporters are now concerned about another injury-hit campaign in Mason’s first season in charge, with one fan saying: “Looks like Bany pulled his hamstring at the end, surely not another injury-prone player.”

Concerns for the player’s condition were echoed by another supporter who said: “Hopefully nothing major, but didn’t look great, shame really because he’s another one that if we could keep fit would be a serious player.”

West Brom injuries will worry Mason

West Brom endured some difficult luck with injuries last season, especially in the forward departments.

Daryl Dike and strike partner Josh Maja both suffered from long-term injuries last season, with Maja’s knock putting a stop to his fine goalscoring form in the first half of last season.

West Brom’s bad look will worry Mason as they need to find a solution to the problem in order to compete next season.

This could mean selling some of their injury-prone players, with Maja and Dike linked with moves away this summer.
