Devante Cole ‘not good enough for West Brom’ as League One transfer on cards

Devante Cole could potentially leave this transfer window as West Brom drew 1-1 against Dynamo Kyiv on Friday.

Ryan Mason’s team faced the Ukrainian outfit in Austria in their first pre-season friendly, as Vladyslav Vanat cancelled out Nat Phillips’ bullet header.

Tammer Bany also came on for the Albion and ended up picking up a concerning knock towards the end of the fixture, but The Hawthorns faithful may also be worried about Cole after he came on at the hour mark to replace Daryl Dike.

West Brom striker Cole being looked at by League One clubs this transfer window

League One clubs are looking at signing Cole from West Brom this summer, DOOD shares.

The Baggies’ insider believes that it isn’t surprising to see teams from the third division eyeing a move for the 30-year-old at The Hawthorns.

During the draw against Brugge, the Jamaican centre-forward missed a chance towards the end of the game, leading to criticism.

DOOD wrote on X (11 July): “No surprise League One clubs are looking at him, bloke isn’t this level at all”

Cole should think about leaving West Brom in the coming weeks, as it’s clear that he doesn’t have a future.

Despite the managerial change at the West Midlands outfit, it would make sense for the 30-year-old striker to leave after not starting in any Championship game in the previous campaign.

The Baggies signed the Jamaican forward as a free agent last summer after he left Barnsley, but his stint at the Black Country club has been underwhelming.

Mason should ask for more strikers at The Hawthorns

West Brom signed Aune Heggebo from SK Brann as they prepare for the upcoming Championship season under a new manager.

The Baggies still have Dike and Josh Maja up front, but that clearly wasn’t enough last season due to their fitness issues.

It remains to be seen how Bany’s situation progresses in the coming weeks, and supporters will hope the knock isn’t serious as they expect the Danish attacker of Palestinian descent to play a key role next season.

Mason could potentially use his connections at Tottenham to sign the likes of Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear, but only time will tell what sort of squad he will have at his disposal.
