West Brom to replace Bartley with Aston Villa ace amid ‘phenomenal’ loan update

West Brom could find an alternative to Kyle Bartley at their Midlands rivals.

It appears that the skipper is going to be departing The Hawthorns this summer, as an exit could be welcomed by the Baggies hierarchy.

The 34-year-old has been a useful servant in B71, but now looks to have reached the end of the line with Ryan Mason taking over as head coach.

If the Englishman is to depart, Albion could turn to Aston Villa to find an ideal replacement on a loan deal ahead of the new Championship season.

With the highly anticipated signing of Nat Phillips from Liverpool, it is fair to say that the centre-back position looks strong in the Black Country.

The Englishman netted his first goal since his cut-price move, netting a header in the opening pre-season friendly against Dynamo Kyiv on Friday (11 July).

His success alongside the likes of Torbjorn Heggem is only likely to spell bad news for Bartley, who is likely to be let go if an offer comes in [DOOD, 7 July].

As a result, new options are likely to be considered, with a deal with local rivals Aston Villa potentially possible, moving deeper into the window.

This comes after Martin Allen told Villa News (11 July) that Unai Emery could sanction a loan move to the Championship for young defender Yasin Ozcan.

He said: “The experience of playing in Turkyie at that age is absolutely phenomenal. Could he go out and play at Championship level to get used to English football next season? The playing style in Turkyie is quite different, so it will be interesting to see.

“I think Unai Emery will suggest that he goes out on loan to a decent Championship club or even a newly promoted side. It is an interesting situation, and it is certainly one I am going to keep an eye on this season.”

With that in mind, a move to The Hawthorns could be entirely possible for the young Turkish ace after his move to Bodymoor Heath from Kasimpasa.

Ozcan could join West Brom on loan from Aston Villa

There is plenty of excitement building around the 19-year-old at Villa Park after an initial agreement was struck with the Super Lig side in January.

Ozcan has excellent experience at his young age and also has the capability to play as a centre-back or as a left-back when required.

This could see the Turk be a useful addition as a backup option to Heggem, who also has the capability to play in the same positions on occasion.

It is clear that the Baggies and the Villans already have a positive relationship in the market, after Lewis Dobbin joined on loan from B6 last summer.

Now, it will be interesting to see if Emery sanctions a move and how much the teen could thrive in the Championship if handed the chance.
