‘Jeon Jin-Woo keen on West Brom move’ as officials react in ‘significant’ update
West Brom have been linked with a surprise swoop for Jeon Jin-Woo.
The Baggies have already been active in the transfer window with deals for Nat Phillips and Aune Heggebo already going through.
It appears that Ryan Mason is keen to add to his squad further before the Championship season begins as the South Korea international emerges as a target.
Now, a development has emerged from Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors as a move away from his homeland enters the agenda this summer.

Jin-Woo transfer update drops at West Brom
It is fair to say that a move for the 25-year-old came out of the blue to those assosiated with The Hawthorns.
That isn’t to say that the versatile attacker wouldn’t represent a positive addition given his 15 goal involvements in just 20 K-League appearances this season.
Stat (K-League 2025) | Jeon Jin-Woo |
Appearances | 20 |
Goals | 12 |
Assists | 3 |
With that being said, it doesn’t appear that Jeonbuk are happy to lose Jin-Woo having already rejected a £1million approach from B71 [MBC News, 15 July].
Club representatives from the the Green Warriors have spoken out to say: “West Bromwich Albion recently sent an official offer to recruit Jeon Jin-woo.
“We are also considering that there is not much time left to recruit a replacement, as the K League transfer market ends on the 24th.”
With that being said, Korean football expert Joel Kim has since reported (15 July) that the wide forward is keen on a move to the Baggies but needs to make that clear if a move is going to happen.
The current stage of the window and the need to replace the Korean is said to represent “a significant obstacle”, which may represent a blow for the Albion this summer.
West Brom can remain hopeful for Jin-Woo deal
Although the K-League outfit remain against selling the forward, if the player wants a deal, it could end up being forced through.
There is no doubt that Mason will be keen to add goals to his side, seen with the addition of Heggebo at this early stage.
This will especially be the case in wide areas given that Karlan Grant scored the most goals from that position last campaign, netting seven across 43 appearances.
As a result, looking to bring in Jin-Woo can only be seen as a positive deal, especially if a deal in the region of that initial £1m can be agreed.
