West Brom players have made their minds up on Ryan Mason already after Austria
Ryan Mason is preparing for his first season in management after taking charge of West Brom.
Fans of the Baggies are unsure what to expect from the Englishman, who twice took over the reins at Tottenham on an interim basis.
The appointment, which saw West Brom name Mason as their head coach on a three-year deal last month, is seen as a gamble.
However, The Hawthorns hopeful will trust the 34-year-old’s experience at a top Premier League club will give him a head-start for life in the Championship.

West Brom players love Mason, he is ‘full of enthusiasm’
West Brom have returned from a training camp in Austria, where they began their preparation for several pre-season friendlies.
The Baggies already enjoyed a 2-0 win behind closed doors against Port Vale at the start of July, courtesy of goals from Tammer Bany and Ollie Bostock.
And their second match saw them draw 1-1 against Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kyiv, after new signing Nat Phillips had headed home to give Mason’s side the lead.
Saturday (19 July) will see the West Midlands club take on Blackpool, before matches against Lincoln City and Rayo Vallecano.

Fans will be encouraged by what they have seen so far, and according to West Brom insider DOOD (15 July), the players are as well.
Speaking on social media, the former journalist said the players are “loving Mason”, who is bringing “fresh new ideas to the table.”
Mason is “full of enthusiasm but also stands for no messing”, according to DOOD.
He also shared some insight into the new tactics employed by the former midfielder, who wants to encourage players to get into the box when the team go forward, while also establishing a high press.
West Brom fans will be excited
West Brom fans will certainly be encouraged by the noises coming out of the club about their new head coach. Mason, while inexperienced, offers a fresh approach to the way the Baggies will attempt to make their case for promotion.
High-pressing, attacking football is often said to be the most exciting brand, and The Hawthorns will be delighted to see it in action come August.
