Five West Brom wonderkids to watch in 2025/26 – Bray, Whitwell and more

West Bromwich Albion have the youngest manager in the Championship, and there are plenty of young players who could enjoy a breakthrough season at The Hawthorns as well.

Ryan Mason is expected to give some of West Brom’s academy stars their big break if he feels they’re ready for the step up.

Below, West Brom News reveals five wonderkids that Baggies fans should keep an eye on this season.

Harry Whitwell – midfield

Harry Whitwell grew up in Oxford before being scouted by West Brom.

Whitwell signed his first professional contract last summer and made his debut in the final Championship game of last season, the 5-3 defeat of Luton.

Still only 18 years old, Whitwell will be hoping to continue to develop his game this season.

Deago Nelson – full-back

Nelson is described as a “fast, tenacious full-back” on the West Bromwich Albion website.

The 19-year-old is yet to make his senior debut but he is seen as a player with a bright future by the West Brom academy coaches.

If he continues to learn his trade and improve, he’ll stand a great chance of catching Ryan Mason’s eye this season.

Jack Bray – striker

West Brom signed Jack Bray from Harrogate Town this summer.

The 18-year-old made his professional debut for the Sulphurites in a League 2 fixture against Grimsby Town last season.

He was also offered a professional contract, but opted to sign for the Baggies on a three-year deal instead.

Tammer Bany – striker

West Brom signed Bany from Danish side Randers during the winter transfer window.

The 21-year-old striker has made four appearances and registered an assist on his debut.

There will be lots of competition for a starting place up front next season, but Bany will be hoping to force his way into the team.

Tom Fellows – midfielder

West Brom fans won’t need to be told to look out for Tom Fellows.

The 22-year-old made his debut in the 2021-22 season and has been a first-team regular for the last three seasons.

Fellows has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Everton supposedly interested in bidding for him.

Still, if he does remain at The Hawthorns, you can definitely expect Fellows to be picked and make a significant impact.
