West Brom set to seal transfer for Pochettino favourite in £1.8m deal

West Brom are set to land their third signing of the summer.

Albion have already brought former Liverpool defender Nat Phillips and Norwegian striker Aune Heggebo to the West Midlands.

Ryan Mason is still looking for new blood as he looks to take the Baggies on a promotion push, back to the Premier League after a five-year absence.

The former Tottenham coach may be able to utilise his connections with his former club, and former manager Mauricio Pochettino has come in handy on this occasion.

West Brom set to sign Campbell

West Brom have been linked with CF Montreal star George Campbell, and it appears that they are close to securing his signature after a new update.

Daily Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath (17 July) claims that the Baggies are set to sign Campbell in a deal worth £1.8million.

He states that the defender is in the plans of Pochettino, who is the current United States national team manager.

Mason set up nicely for West Brom debut season

Shilen Patel and Co. may have feared that Profit and Sustainability issues would have hampered their business this summer, but it appears that they can still bring in top-quality players.

The three that they have brought in are solid options to improve Mason’s squad, in what could have been a difficult season had he not been backed by Bilkul Football in the market.

It was a huge risk appointing such an inexperienced manager, but with the additions to the team, they will be confident that they can achieve their ambitions of getting back to the top-flight.

The Hawthorns outfit still needs a few more signings if they are to be ready to threaten the top two, but their start to the window has been very encouraging.

They have been linked with South Korean star Jeon Jin-woo, but journalist Joel Kim exclusively told West Brom News that the deal is unlikely at the moment, due to a lack of time for Jeonbuk to find a replacement.

The Black Country outfit may have to look elsewhere to strengthen their attacking options further, but they have set Mason up well to start his debut campaign as manager.
