‘Josh Windass next’ as West Brom announce new transfer agreement

West Brom’s squad for the 2025/26 campaign is starting to come along nicely.

Ryan Mason will be pleased at the progress being made at The Hawthorns ahead of the Baggies’ return to Championship action, although he will be more than aware of the fact that there is still a lot of work to be done.

Improving the quality of the starting lineup has to be the priority, though adding depth to the squad will also be crucial.

With that in mind, a swoop for Josh Windass could be on the cards next, after an agreement was reached at West Brom.

George Campbell completes West Brom transfer

With the exit of Semi Ajayi and the pending exit of Kyle Bartley, it was evident that Albion needed defensive reinforcements, and they have done that with the signing of George Campbell.

West Brom announced via their X channel (18 July) that the American defender has officially made the move to The Hawthorns, pending international clearance.

Campbell excelled in the MLS and had even earned recognition from former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, the current USMNT manager.

His arrival serves as a massive boost for the defensive setup under Mason, though it won’t be long until attentions turn towards another attacking arrival, and with Windass’ exit from Sheffield Wednesday recently confirmed, Albion could swoop.

West Brom could benefit from Windass arrival

The Baggies will be looking to bolster their attack further this summer. Therefore, with Windass available for free, it would be a no-brainer for them to take a look at the very least.

With that said, several clubs will have the same idea, given the ability he showcased in a struggling Sheffield Wednesday side last season.

The former Rangers forward can operate in several positions, which would only be a boost for Mason and West Brom, who have been linked with the forward in the past.

Aside from him, Albion will almost certainly have several deals in the pipeline, setting up for what could be an exciting few weeks.
