‘Kyle Bartley to clear out locker’ after latest West Brom announcement

Kyle Bartley may have no future at West Brom as Ryan Mason prepares for next season at The Hawthorns.

The former Tottenham assistant head coach took charge of his first competitive game as the Baggies’ boss as they drew 1-1 against Kynamo Kyiv in Austria.

With Nat Phillips and Torbjorn Heggem partnering against the Ukrainian outfit, the Albion could accept an offer for Bartley at The Hawthorns in the coming weeks.

West Brom announce George Campbell transfer as Bartley surplus to requirements

West Brom have announced the signing of George Campbell from CF Montreal, further bolstering their backline.

After Phillips arrived from Liverpool in the ongoing transfer window, Bartley already seemed to have fallen down the pecking order.

The 34-year-old could potentially be surplus to requirements now that the Baggies have made a further addition to their backline.

While the 24-year-old has spent most of his career in the MLS, West Brom certainly have high hopes from the defender after spending a relatively significant sum.

Mason also used Ousmane Diakite and Caleb Taylor as centre-backs against Kyiv, giving him several options ahead of next season.

Bartley could now potentially be free to leave the West Midlands outfit and may clear out his locker soon.

The Englishman has a massive decision to make regarding his future, as it doesn’t look like he will be the first choice under the new manager at The Hawthorns.

Mason needs more transfers at West Brom

Campbell has become West Brom’s third signing this summer after Phillips and Aune Heggebo.

The Baggies lost a considerable number of players as free agents at the end of the previous campaign and evidently need to add depth to their squad.

After Semi Ajayi’s exit, the Albion have tried to strengthen their backline and should now focus on other areas of the pitch.

Campbell certainly can’t be the Black Country club’s last addition, and it will be interesting to see who else arrives before the end of August.
