West Brom have ‘major Josh Maja concern’ as free transfer on cards
Josh Maja has the potential to be a key player for Ryan Mason at West Brom.
In just a few weeks, West Brom will return to Championship action, though there is still a lot of work to be done before then.
Recruitment plans at The Hawthorns certainly need to be accelerated imminently, with Mason still in need of several new additions.
However, the futures of those currently residing in the Midlands will be just as important, with that of Maja set to be high up on that list.

Maja contract situation needs to be sorted
In six months, Maja will be free to negotiate a transfer abroad, which would see West Brom receive nothing in terms of a transfer fee.
Given his record in the Championship, he isn’t likely to be short of suitors, with various clubs having already shown an interest in him over the last few months.
West Brom | Games | Goals | Assists |
Maja | 26 | 12 | 2 |
West Brom will be relying on his goals this season, and it will be crucial that his contract situation is resolved as a matter of urgency.
His current deal at The Hawthorns runs until June next year, and it won’t be long until Mason starts sweating over his potential winter exit.

West Brom must have contingency plans in place
The arrival of Aune Heggebo will subdue some of the concerns, though adding another forward to the squad will be crucial this summer if Albion are to progress this season.
If West Brom were to lose Maja, it would be a major blow, and if it were to happen for free, it would be somewhat of a financial disaster.
There is a lot of work still to be done for the Baggies, but resolving the uncertainty over his future needs to be a priority.
