Charlie Kelman bid made as West Brom look to seal transfer
West Brom are keen on securing the services of QPR striker Charlie Kelman ahead of MLS side Charlotte FC.
Ryan Mason wants a quality number nine to lead the line as he aims to get the Baggies back to the Premier League.
The Hawthorns outfit have flirted with promotion over the last two seasons but remain a second-tier outfit for the 2025/26 campaign.

QPR turn down Charlotte bid for Kelman
According to Fabrizio Romano (21 July), QPR received a bid for the 23-year-old, but it was not from the Baggies.
Charlotte are also keen on the former United States Under-20s international and made an offer to bring him overseas.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
Leyton Orient | 108 | 34 | 9 |
Southend United | 35 | 8 | – |
QPR | 26 | – | – |
Gillingham FC | 26 | 2 | 1 |
Wigan | 14 | 3 | 1 |
However, QPR were not satisfied with that offer and decided to turn it down.
The MLS club have identified him as a potential replacement for Patrick Agyemang.
West Brom are also keen on Kelman but have not yet made an offer for the forward.
West Brom must make their move for Kelman
West Brom must act swiftly to bid for Kelman if they are serious about securing his signature, given the intense competition from Championship clubs and Charlotte FC.
His prolific 2024/25 League One season with Leyton Orient, where he scored 27 goals and provided six assists, showcases his potential as a clinical striker who could address the Baggies’ attacking woes.
His shot conversion rate and proven goalscoring instinct make him a valuable addition to Mason’s squad, which lacks depth up front.
A well-timed bid could secure a cost-effective deal and it remains to be seen if the Baggies go ahead with it.
Discussing personal terms now is crucial to fend off rivals and ensure Kelman, a former USA youth international, commits to The Hawthorns, offering a long-term solution to their striker shortage.
