Ryan Mason makes ‘final Kelman transfer call’ as offers now submitted
West Brom have been linked with QPR striker Charlie Kelman, who looks set for the exit this summer.
Kelman spent last season on loan at League One side Leyton Orient, and fired them to the play-off final with 27 goals across all competitions.
West Brom need to add to their attack, with Aune Heggebo their only signing in the final third so far, and Kelman has attracted interest from several clubs.
With Charlotte FC recently bidding for the USMNT under-20 international, the Baggies have now learned that more clubs have made offers.

West Brom pull out of Kelman race
West Brom were keen on stealing Kelman from their Championship rivals, but it now appears that they will no longer pursue the forward.
It has been reported by Darren Witcoop that two MLS clubs have now submitted new offers for the 23-year-old, as well as League One side Luton Town.
Kelman is set to leave QPR as a result of the interest in him, and he failed to make a mark at Loftus Road, as he did not score in 23 Championship appearances.
Club | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
Leyton Orient | 108 | 34 | 9 |
Southend United | 35 | 8 | – |
QPR | 26 | – | – |
Gillingham FC | 26 | 2 | 1 |
Wigan | 14 | 3 | 1 |
It is reported that Ryan Mason has now turned his attentions to other targets, leaving Kelman to decide between Luton and MLS football.
West Brom need a more proven option than Kelman
Although impressive last season, Kelman’s Championship record serves as a red flag, with it unclear if he is ready to make the step up just yet.
West Brom need a reliable striker who can help fire them to promotion, and if Kelman had joined and failed to settle, they would have suffered for it.
A forward who has shown that he can score goals at Championship level would be ideal for West Brom, but they will need to move quickly to secure more signings as the season draws nearer.
Pre-season has seen West Brom draw with Dynamo Kyiv and lose to Blackpool, and more bodies through the door are necessary for Mason.
