West Brom to beat Birmingham to Mikey Moore as Tottenham agree transfer

West Brom have been keen to sign Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore on loan this summer.

Head coach Ryan Mason is eager to further reinforce his attacking options, having already welcomed Norwegian striker Aune Heggebo to The Hawthorns.

George Campbell and Nat Phillips have also been signed by the Baggies, but progress on a fourth incoming appears to have stalled in recent days.

However, Moore could be a target West Brom make a big push for in the coming weeks, having been linked with a move earlier in the window.

Tottenham open door for Moore loan

According to Football Insider (25 July), Tottenham have agreed to let Moore go out on loan for the upcoming season, with the winger keen to experience regular first-team action.

Spurs had initially been reluctant to sanction such a move, but have now come around to the idea and are willing to accept loan bids for the 17-year-old.

Birmingham City, as well as West Brom, are keen on Moore, who broke through in the Premier League last season.

Moore is an exciting talent

And top clubs from the Eredivisie have also registered their interest, according to the report.

Moore broke into Ange Postecoglou’s side last season, following a sensational season for Spurs’ Under-18s, during which he scored 14 goals and registered eight assists in just 12 games.

The talent, who also scored for England at the 2025 Under-19 Euros, appeared in 10 Premier League games and scored his first Spurs goal in the UEFA Europa League, against Swedish side Elfsborg.

West Brom have the edge in the race for Moore

While Birmingham City’s rapid rise under the ownership of Tom Wagner would likely present an exciting opportunity for Moore, he is more likely to be attracted to the prospect of reuniting with Mason.

The former Spurs player was present throughout Moore’s journey to the first team in North London, initially being appointed Head of Player Development for the youth sides in 2020.

And Mason was named as an assistant coach to Postecoglou upon the Australian’s arrival in 2023, overseeing the teenager’s first appearances and eventual full breakthrough into the first team.

The coach is fully aware of Moore’s talents and would undoubtedly be the perfect man to guide his development further.
