West Brom have been credited with an interest in signing Liverpool youngster James McConnell this summer.
Dr Rajpal Brar has delivered a verdict on his recent injury that has seen him miss the pre-season tour for Arne Slot’s side.
The Morpeth-born central midfielder has already made 13 senior appearances for the Reds.
McConnell to clear medical despite recent injury
The Liverpool midfielder is expected to clear his medical, but there is a possibility of him not being ready to start the opening game of the season, according to Dr Brar.
West Brom are interested in signing McConnell this summer, but there are clubs in Germany and the Championship vying for his services.

Speaking exclusively with West Brom News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said: “He’s currently ruled out with an injury, but it’s said to be a minor one.
“This means that while he may not be at 100 per cent currently, he should still clear his medical.
“It may take him a few weeks to get to full fitness, so it’s possible he’s not ready to start in the opening game of the season.”
West Brom should make a bid to sign McConnell
West Brom must bid for McConnell to bolster their midfield depth and creativity.
The 20-year-old’s versatility as a defensive or attacking midfielder suits Ryan Mason’s system.
His Champions League debut and Arne Slot’s praise highlight his potential.
