West Brom can finally seal Mikey Moore loan as Frank leaves him behind

West Brom’s patience looks to be finally paying off regarding a move for Mikey Moore.

The Baggies have already conducted some particularly ambitious business this window, with a significant fee of nearly £5million paid for Norwegian striker Aune Heggebo.

Alongside this, Nat Phillips has joined from Liverpool in what looks to be a solid addition to Ryan Mason’s squad; however, a loan move for Tottenham wonderkid Moore would excite supporters even further.

Given Mason’s connections to Spurs, West Brom has always seemed like a possible destination for the youngster this season, and the Albion have just been handed a major boost regarding a potential deal.

Moore left out of Spurs squad by Frank

Moore, 17, is regarded as the most talented prospect in Spurs’ academy, with the winger now looking to play regular minutes next season.

The teenager made 10 appearances in the Premier League last campaign and also impressed for the Lilywhites in the Europa League.

Moore played a role in Tottenham’s European success last season.

Now, according to Alasdair Gold on X (28 July), Moore has been granted permission not to travel to Spurs’ pre-season tour of Hong Kong and Korea with the rest of Thomas Frank’s squad, to explore potential opportunities for loan moves.

Whilst this is a major boost for Mason, the new Albion boss will have to sell The Hawthorns to the winger, with Rangers and Celtic also reportedly being interested in Moore.

Moore would be an exciting yet risky addition for Mason

Given Moore’s age and potential, there is little doubt that the England U19 international will have a phenomenal career in the game.

However, for Mason to rely heavily on such an inexperienced player next season could easily backfire, with the teenager on the verge of turning 18.

The Championship is an incredibly physical league, and despite the youngsters’ evident technical quality, the physicality of the division may prove to be a tough challenge for the winger.

Given the fact that a Championship-proven winger in Grady Diangana was allowed to walk out the door for free earlier in the summer, replacing him with a teenager is a risky move.
