Who is Chris Ramos? West Brom launch multi-million bid for striker

West Brom could move for Cadiz forward Chris Ramos as Ryan Mason looks to bolster his attack.

The Baggies’ forward line has been a concern for supporters, with uncertainty over the future of Devante Cole and Karlan Grant.

The only forward to arrive so far is Aune Heggebo, and with Grant and Cole as his potential backups, The Hawthorns faithful have been rightly concerned.

With that in mind, West Brom have reportedly launched a multi-million bid to sign Ramos, who reached double figures for goals last season.

Ramos has shown his expertise in Spain

Ramos scored 10 goals for Cadiz in the second division in Spain last season, and his form has attracted interest from several clubs.

As reported by Matteo Moretto (31 July), the Baggies have made a £2.1million bid for the 28-year-old.

Should Albion sign the Spaniard, they would be getting their hands on a veteran who has continued to show his goalscoring form in his homeland.

Ramos has done well in some difficult leagues

Ramos, 28, currently plays in the second tier of Spanish football and impressed last season in a poor Cadiz side, which only finished 13th in the league despite higher expectations of the Spaniards.

La Liga outfit Real Oviedo have offered £1.7m, giving Albion the upper hand in the race to sign the 28-year-old forward.

Cadiz are in a strong position to negotiate for his transfer, with Ramos still having three years left on his deal.

Cole’s time at West Brom could be finished after Ramos transfer

Cole has struggled so far during preseason.

Since joining last season, the striker has made just 14 appearances for Albion, with no starts.

With a more consistent striker and a team player in Ramos potentially arriving, the 30-year-old’s disastrous time at The Hawthorns could finally be coming to an end.
