West Brom could have next signing ready as Tottenham to decide on Hall in hours

Ryan Mason’s links with Tottenham could land him a much-needed midfielder at West Brom.

The Baggies must make August the most productive month of their transfer window after signing just three players so far this summer.

Mason arrived at The Hawthorns knowing that the club would not have a huge budget to spend, and was hoping to utilise his connections with Tottenham to secure loan deals.

He will have been disappointed with Mikey Moore’s decision to join Rangers, but still could make a move for Tyrese Hall following a recent development.

Hall’s future at Tottenham to be decided imminently

Mason is desperate to add more players to his squad after last weekend’s 4-2 loss to Lincoln (26 July) raised alarm bells in the Midlands.

The optimism of his appointment at West Brom is quickly ebbing away, and the former England international will want to reinvigorate the positivity with new signings.

The 34-year-old has had to be patient with moving for Tottenham players as their new manager, Thomas Frank, has wanted to assess his young players before deciding on their futures.

A move for Will Lanshear is still on the cards, while Mason could also be given a chance to sign Hall, whose immediate future in North London is set to be decided in the next 24 hours, as reported by Football Insider on Friday (1 August).

The exciting young midfielder is yet to make a senior appearance for his parent club, but was a regular in the youth teams for Tottenham last season.

Championship, League One and League Two clubs have registered their interest in Hall.

Considering Mason’s connection to Tottenham, one of those clubs could very well be the Baggies.

Hall would be a welcome addition at West Brom

One of the key areas Mason is hoping to strengthen is the middle of the park, as he is yet to replace John Swift after his departure this summer.

Hall’s lack of first-team experience would likely see him start behind Jayson Molumby and Alex Mowatt, but he would be ready to provide an option off the bench.

The teenager has more recently developed into more of an attacking midfielder and could offer more of a goal threat from midfield than the players currently at Mason’s disposal.

As the most likely deal is a loan, potentially with an option to buy, Hall would be a very low-risk investment for West Brom that could help them in the push towards promotion.
