West Brom ‘to sign ideal Torbjorn Heggem replacement’ in Tottenham defender
West Brom find themselves in a tough spot as they risk losing the grace and calmness of Torbjorn Heggem from their defence.
Bologna are interested in the Norway international, with the Baggies looking to make £8.6million from his sale this summer.
The Serie A outfit have scoffed at Bilkul Football’s valuation at The Hawthorns, but there’s still a chance he could leave the Albion before the end of August.
If the 26-year-old ends up leaving the West Midlands outfit, Ryan Mason may turn to Tottenham to sign an ideal replacement.

Luka Vuskovic should be a transfer target for West Brom
Tottenham will let Luka Vuskovic leave on loan in the ongoing transfer window, according to Football London.
The news outlet reports (4 August) that the 18-year-old defender is one of eight players who has been made available in N17 as Thomas Frank looks to cut down his squad.
A youth product of Hajduk Split, Spurs agreed a deal with the Croatian outfit in 2023 to sign the centre-back for £12million.
It looks like the North London outfit want Vuskovic to develop elsewhere before being given opportunities by the Danish manager, and that’s where West Brom could potentially swoop in.

Heggem and Vuskovic comparison
Heggem signed for West Brom last summer from IF Brommapojkarna and thrived playing as a left-back and centre-back under Carlos Corberan and Tony Mowbray.
While there isn’t a direct comparison between the Allsvenskan and Croatian top flight, the two are ranked 18 and 21 in the UEFA rankings.
Vuskovic may be a better attacking threat than Heggem if he arrives at The Hawthorns, and the youngster also seems comfortable with the ball at his feet.
League Statistics | Vuskovic (2024/25) | Heggem (2023/24) |
Appearances | 36 | 12 |
Goals | 7 | 1 |
Successful passes (accuracy) | 1431 (86.3%) | 524 (83.2%) |
Chances created | 15 | 10 |
Successful dribbles (percentage) | 15 (65.2%) | 3 (37.5%) |
Tackles won (percentage) | 18 (64.3%) | 15 (68.2%) |
Duels won (percentage) | 191 (64.1%) | 58 (63%) |
Aerial duels won (percentage) | 127 (68.6%) | 27 (69.2%) |
While there’s work to be done defensively on the 18-year-old, West Brom should think about making a move for him in case the Norwegian defender departs.
Mason may be able to use his connections at Tottenham to pull off a temporary deal for Vuskovic.
The Albion could also give Spurs the added advantage over foreign clubs of giving the Croatia international regular minutes in English football at The Hawthorns.
