West Brom fans sent Hannah Hampton message ahead of season opener

Hannah Hampton is one of the most famous West Brom supporters in the world at the moment.

The Birmingham-born goalkeeper was the star of the show as England Women won the UEFA European Women’s Championship on 27 July.

The Chelsea stopper was sent a message by David Beckham after the semi-final win against Sweden and starred in the final.

The showcase against Spain went to a dramatic penalty shootout, and Hampton made two saves when it mattered most to secure the Lionesses’ victory and her place in the history books.

Pat Frost reveals what Hampton once said to him

Former West Brom kitman Pat Frost is still invested in The Hawthorns outfit, constantly posting about the West Midlands club on social media.

He has urged Baggies supporters to give Hampton a warm welcome for the Championship opener with Blackburn (9 August) and revealed what Hampton previously told him about her support for Albion.

Taking to X (8 August), Frost said: “Miss Hampton is at The Hawthorns tomorrow, I’m sure you will all make sure she gets the reception she deserves when she’s on the pitch at half-time.

“As she once said to me, ‘Me and my dad are proper Albion’.”

West Brom can use Hampton’s heroics as inspiration

Hampton’s heroics were absolutely brilliant to see for all, but it was especially lovely for the Black Country as she is an Albion supporter.

Ryan Mason and his side can use her performance at the tournament to inspire them to their promotion goals this season.

Shilen Patel and Co. are aiming for a return to the Premier League after a five-year absence, and they need an extra edge after a miserable finish to the last campaign.

They have made solid moves in the transfer market with Nat Phillips, Aune Heggebo and George Campbell arriving, but they need more than that if they are to compete at the top end of the division.

The Opta supercomputer has predicted that West Brom will finish in sixth place, which would grant them a playoff berth, something which they missed out on last season under Tony Mowbray.

Whether they can take their chance and reach the Wembley showcase if they do manage to finish in the playoff places remains to be seen.

Hampton will hope that they can, and use her antics on the world stage to motivate them to their own success.
