Aune Heggebo announcement made after West Brom victory over Blackburn Rovers
West Brom recruited striker Aune Heggebo in the summer, and he made his highly anticipated debut against Blackburn Rovers.
The Baggies secured a solid 1-0 victory over Blackburn to kick off their season, with Isaac Price scoring the only goal of the game.
Heggebo is one of just three outfield signings to arrive at The Hawthorns this summer so far, but there is always excitement over a new centre-forward.
West Brom fans were impressed with Heggebo in the win over Blackburn, and they were not the only admirers, as he made a positive start to life in England.

Heggebo named in Championship Team of the Week
Heggebo’s performance has now been recognised as one of the best of the opening weekend in the Championship, and has already earned an award for his display.
The 24-year-old has been named in the Championship Team of the Week, as announced by the EFL’s official X account on Monday.
- Heggebo joined from FC Brann this summer.
- West Brom paid around £4.75 million to sign him.

The striker was the only West Brom player to be included, despite Price’s goal and the clean sheet, but it is deserved despite Heggebo not opening his account for goals.
Fans were impressed by his hold-up play and his movement, and the powerhouse certainly gave Ryan Mason’s side an extra dimension upfront as he provided the assist for Price’s strike.
Heggebo will hope to score his first goal soon, but for now he can be happy with the fast start he has made at West Brom, but there is little time to rest.
West Brom games coming thick and fast
West Brom have little time to reflect on their opening day win, as they will be in Carabao Cup action against Derby County on Tuesday night.
Heggebo may still take some time to fully adapt to English football, but it is very positive that he already looks at home upfront for the Baggies.
Mason may elect to keep him in the team against Derby to allow him to continue getting used to his new surroundings, and could also find his eye for goal against the Rams.
