Torbjorn Heggem closes in on West Brom exit as update on fee emerges
Torbjorn Heggem looks set to close his West Brom chapter in the coming days.
The 26-year-old was voted as West Brom’s Players’ Player of the Season and also won the supporters’ award.
However, it appears that Ryan Mason is set to lose the Norwegian defender, in a major blow to his hopes of taking the Baggies back to the Premier League.
Heggem has constantly been linked with a move to Serie A outfit Bologna, and the Italians are seemingly close to a deal.

Heggem set to leave West Brom as fee update shared
The Norway international is a fan favourite at The Hawthorns, but that may not be the case for much longer.
DOOD has reported on 13 August that the Albion are close to agreeing on a fee to allow him to leave.
He stated that discussions have continued after the Italian side failed to reach an agreement last week.
West Brom need to replace Heggem
Losing Heggem could be a turning point in Albion’s season.
He is one of the best defenders in the Championship, and has formed a great partnership with Nat Phillips in pre-season and the opening day victory over Blackburn Rovers.
If he does depart, the Black Country club need to ensure that they replace him with somebody as good, otherwise their season may be a write off.
They arguably need two defenders through the door, as they would only have Phillips, the inexperienced George Campbell and Caleb Taylor.
The latter is not an ideal option, and it was his tackle that conceded the free-kick that ultimately led to the West Midlands outfit going out of the Carabao Cup against Derby on 12 August.
Shilen Patel and Co. need to make sure that Mason’s squad is not left with any holes, especially in a position as important as centre-back.
Otherwise, it may be a very long season the the Throstles’ fanbase after they endured a dismal campaign last time out.
Obviously, Profit and Sustainability regulations will ultimately determine how much business they will do, but Heggem’s sale will help bring in new players.
