Toby Collyer looks set to join West Brom in the coming days on loan from Manchester United.

The young midfielder made his breakout at the Red Devils last season, making 11 appearances.

As a result, the 21-year-old is believed to have plenty of promise, with West Brom now in advanced talks to sign Collyer.

If all goes through, the Man United starlet will be looking to continue his good form at The Hawthorns.

Collyer broke Man United passing record on first appearance at Old Trafford

Ryan Mason has been chasing a new midfielder throughout the summer, and the manager now appears to have his wish.

Alongside the impending arrival of Krystian Bielik, West Brom should reach five additions going into the final weeks of the transfer window.

While many of The Hawthorns’ faithful might not know who Collyer is, there is plenty to get excited about.

According to OptaJoe on 23 January, during their 2-1 victory over Rangers in the Europa League, Collyer broke an impressive record.

The youngster became the first Man United midfielder to record 50+ passes on their first appearance at Old Trafford in a major European competition while also maintaining a pass accuracy of at least 94%.

This was the first time this had happened on record, which started in the 2003/04 campaign.

Collyer has had a promising start to his career

There will be multiple times this campaign where the Baggies will be defending heavily, whether that is to hold onto a result or simply due to a tough fixture.

Therefore, by adding another defensive option, it can help Mason have more influence on the outcome of the game.
