West Brom make clear dig at Wrexham on social media after 3-2 win
Ryan Mason’s dream start to life in the Championship continued as West Brom beat Wrexham 3-2 on Saturday.
The Baggies won their opening game of the Championship season, beating Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at The Hawthorns on Saturday, 9 August.
And the West Midlands outfit made it back-to-back victories to start the season as they held on to beat newly-promoted Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground on 16 August.
The Red Dragons have endured a tough start to life back in the Championsip, first losing 2-1 to Southampton after two late goals at St Mary’s on 9 August, before their defeat against West Brom.
And things have gone from bad to worse for the Welsh club owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, both of whom were in attendance on Saturday.

West Brom make Hollywood dig after win v Wrexham
Two goals from Isaac Price and a Jed Wallace strike were enough to seal all the points for West Brom in Wales on Saturday.
The sides went in level at half-time after Lewis O’Brien cancelled out Price’s 20th-minute opener just before the break. However, Wallace put the visitors back ahead in the 74th minute before Price added his second seven minutes later.
Sam Smith’s stoppage-time strike for the hosts proved to be too little too late as West Brom held on for a big three points, and it’s clear, based on their social media post, that they enjoyed this victory.
After full-time at the Racecourse Ground, the Baggies took to X to share an image of the famous Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, redesigned to read ‘Up the Albion’.
It’s a clear dig at Wrexham, who have quickly risen through the ranks thanks to investment from Reynolds and McElhenney, and supporters were delighted by the post in the replies.
Mason is loving life in the Championship
Four goals scored, two conceded, and two victories; it’s been a fantastic start to life in the Championship for West Brom boss, Mason
It hasn’t been a perfect start to the season for the Baggies, who have lost Torbjorn Heggem after the defender was sold to Bologna.
However, Mason seems to be adapting, and based on their start to the campaign, fans will be confident of a promotion charge this season.
