Isaac Price is currently the talk of the town at West Brom after an outstanding start to the Championship campaign.

Price scored twice as West Brom beat Wrexham, which made it two wins from two to begin the season as they push for promotion.

The introduction of Price as a number 10 behind Aune Heggebo has clearly had an impact, and one West Brom legend has now drawn comparisons between the midfielder and himself.

Tony Brown praises Price after Wrexham win

West Brom legend Tony Brown was an inside winger between 1963 and 1980, and he has a statue outside The Hawthorns.

Speaking to BBC Sounds, 'Bomber' Brown heaped praise on Price, and even claimed that there were similarities between the current Baggies hero and himself.

  • Brown scored 204 goals in 520 games for West Brom, and was a widely revered player with the Baggies.
  • Brown's statue is outside the East Stand of The Hawthorns, and this was unveiled in 2014.

"He is a good player. He's a good technical player. He finds holes, he finds spaces, and he plays just behind the front man," Brown stated.

"He plays the kind of game I used to play, looking for gaps, waiting for gaps to appear and scoring goals.

"He's got that ability to bend the ball, and manipulate the ball. He's going to be a top player."

Price thriving as a number 10 for West Brom

Price has claimed that Mason has given him more freedom at West Brom than offered under Tony Mowbray, and this has allowed him to adapt his style to add goals to his game.

After scoring just once in 15 league games last season, Price has now scored three times in two games, with a winner against Blackburn and what ultimately proved to be a winning brace against Wrexham.

The 21-year-old is quickly becoming one of West Brom's most important players, and it is high praise from Brown that he is already drawing comparisons to the greats.
