West Brom fans all say same thing about Matheus Pereira return after Sunday post

Matheus Pereira is one of the best players to appear for West Brom in the last decade, and fans are now clamouring for him to return.

West Brom’s relegation from the Premier League in 2021 meant Pereira left to join Al-Hilal, and he has not returned to Europe since.

The midfielder is now playing for Cruzeiro, but is still a cult hero among West Brom fans, and he has excelled in his native Brazil.

The Baggies have now sent a social media message to the 29-year-old, and West Brom fans have taken to the replies to call for his return to The Hawthorns.

West Brom fans call for Pereira return

Pereira was a much-loved figure in just two full seasons at West Brom, with the Brazilian excelling as one of the best creative midfielders in the Premier League in his second season.

The midfielder initially joined on loan from Sporting CP, before this was made permanent in 2020, and West Brom have now marked the anniversary of his arrival.

Pereira seemingly still keeps up to date with West Brom’s affairs, and fans have responded to their post calling for him to return, with some labelling him as one of the Baggies’ best ever footballers.

How Pereira has performed since leaving West Brom

West Brom have not returned to the Premier League since Pereira’s departure, but if he was to make an unlikely return, he could help them reach the top-flight again.

He spent two years at Al-Hilal, recording 18 goals and assists in 42 games, before joining Abu Dhabi-based side Al-Wahda on loan.

Pereira eventually moved to Cruzeiro in Brazil, where he has truly found his form again, scoring 15 goals and providing 23 assists in 104 games.

Ryan Mason now has Isaac Price excelling as a number 10, but if the opportunity came up to bring Pereira back, it is clear that the fans would welcome him with open arms.
