‘Phenomenal’ – Andrew Nestor stunned by West Brom fan footage he has shared

Andrew Nestor did not hesitate to give a strong opinion on recent West Brom fan footage.

Nestor has carried out some impressive business in the market since taking over as Sporting Director last summer.

Baggies fans raved about Nat Phillips after he blew them away during West Brom’s 1-0 win against Blackburn Rovers.

Meanwhile, their newest recruit, Toby Collyer was all the talk amongst Manchester United fans after his debut for Albion. And now Nestor has become the subject of conversation once again after his recent post.

Nestor stunned at West Brom away support vs Wrexham

West Brom’s 3-2 win against Wrexham means it is back-to-back victories in the Championship thus far.

The two sides were level at the break after goals from Isaac Price and Lewis O’Brien.

A stoppage-time goal from Sam Smith was not enough to inspire a comeback for the Red Dragons, as a double from Price and a masterful strike from substitute Jed Wallace was enough to seal the deal for Albion.

Despite travelling to the Y Cae Ras, the Baggies fans made sure to make their support heard throughout the confrontation. This did not escape the notice of Nestor, who took to X on 18 August to repost a post from West Brom’s official account showing fans cheering the team on.

He captioned the post with a simple “phenomenal.”

What does Ryan Mason need to do to keep winning

West Brom’s win at Wrexham was shockingly their first away win in the Championship in 2025.

This marks an incredible feat for Ryan Mason, who was doubted at Albion when he was announced as head coach. The criticism at the time was understandable, given that this West Brom are his first permanent managerial position.

Albion’s pre-season form did not help matters. Mason’s side failed to win three consecutive games before bagging a narrow victory against Rayo Vallecano at The Hawthorns.

Now, the Baggies will be determined to keep winning. But they will need to defend better first.

Against Norwich, the opposition led in almost every defensive statistic against Albion. While this can be explained by the West Brom taking more shots on goal, the difference was not huge.

The Bagges had 17 attempts on goal and missed two big chances, while Norwich had 15 attempts and missed five big chances. A more clinical day in the office for the home side and it would have been curtains for Albion.

Therefore, Mason must improve on the defensive front if he wishes to succeed at Fratton Park.
