Toby Collyer becomes number 1,000 at West Brom in new reveal
West Brom have made a flying start to the new season.
Ryan Mason has made the perfect start to life in the Championship after securing back-to-back wins in his first two league games as Baggies boss.
West Brom’s 3-2 victory at Wrexham moved the Baggies up to third, as the feel-good factor appears to have returned to The Hawthorns after a turbulent season last time out that saw three different managers across the course of the season.
Toby Collyer came on as a substitute in the win at Stok Cae Ras, and in doing so made Baggies history.

Toby Collyer becomes West Brom’s 1000th debutant
Collyer came on for his Baggies debut in the 87th minute to help West Brom see out a vital victory at Wrexham.
In doing so, the Manchester United man became the 1000th player to make a debut for the Midlands side in their 147-year history.
Collyer arrived at West Brom this summer from Old Trafford on a season-long loan deal, as he looks to continue his development before breaking into the Red Devils senior side.
The Englishman could be set to make his first start for his new side next weekend as the Baggies host Portsmouth at The Hawthorns.
Alex Mowatt’s time at West Brom is up with Collyer’s arrival
Collyer’s arrival at West Brom could spell the end of the road for Alex Mowatt at The Hawthorns.
Mowatt is part of the old guard that arrived during Valerien Ismael’s torrid time in the Midlands, and has largely struggled since arriving in 2021.
Season | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
2021/22 | 34 | 4 | 2 |
2023/24 | 43 | 2 | 5 |
2024/25 | 43 | 7 | 2 |
The Englishman’s contract is set to expire next summer, and with game time surely set to be limited with West Brom signing the likes of Collyer, eventually cashing in for the midfielder would be a great move for all parties.
