West Brom vs Portsmouth result predicted by supercomputer
West Brom welcome Portsmouth to The Hawthorns on Saturday as they look to extend their winning streak in the Championship.
West Brom beat Wrexham 3-2 in their first away game to add to their 1-0 victory over Blackburn on the opening day. They’re one of only three sides to have won both of their opening games.
They’ll fancy their chances against Portsmouth, who they beat comprehensively both home and away last season.
Pompey have signed some handy new players, including John Swift after he was released by West Brom this summer.
Still, Ryan Mason’s side go into this match as strong favourites to take all three points.

Championship supercomputer makes West Brom strong favourites vs Portsmouth
West Brom will aim to make The Hawthorns a fortress in a bid to sustain a challenge for the Championship’s promotion spots.
The Championship supercomputer, created by sports analytics company Opta, believes they will do so on Saturday.
The supercomputer simulated the match millions of times based on all the data held on West Brom and Portsmouth.
It suggested that:
- West Brom should win on 48.8% of occasions
- Portsmouth should win 25.5% of the time
- There’s a 25.7% of the match being drawn

West Brom will surely look to retain star players after winning start
West Brom’s squad worked hard to adapt to their new manager’s ideas in pre-season, and it’s paying dividends now.
The Baggies have picked up two hard-fought wins and played some exciting football in both matches.
There were rumours that they’d lose some star players this summer.
- Isaac Price has been linked with several Premier League teams
- Everton were supposedly interested in Tom Fellows
- Mikey Johnston almost moved to Flamengo.
Yet, all three players remain at The Hawthorns, and Mason will surely hope they all stay now.
Mason and the West Brom fans have had a taste of what their season could look like with all three of these stars in the team.
It would be a bitter pill to swallow if one of them were to leave now, especially since there wouldn’t be much time to replace them.
The Baggies bagged a cool £10m from the sale of Torbjorn Heggem. They should keep hold of their other valuable stars and gamble on the huge payday that comes with promotion to the Premier League.
