Callum Styles has started the season brilliantly under new boss Ryan Mason, as West Brom sit fourth in the Championship table.

The left-back has featured in every minute for the Baggies so far this campaign, with Mason's side picking up seven points from a possible nine.

Styles joined West Brom from Barnsley in 2024, and has since become a mainstay in the first team.

Styles achieves another Hungary call-up

As announced by the West Brom website, Styles has been named in the Hungary squad for their World Cup qualifying games in September.

Hungary face tough fixtures against the Republic of Ireland and Portugal as they look to qualify for their first World Cup since 1986.

Styles has already made 24 caps for the Hungarian national side since his first senior call-up in 2022.

Since his move to the Baggies, Styles has shown how versatile he is through his attacking and defensive qualities.

Reunion with fellow Baggies star on the cards

A potential sub-plot to the 25-year-old's call up is that he may face up against one of his teammates.

Mikey Johnston scored in West Brom's 1-1 draw vs Portsmouth and has now earned himself a call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad.

With Hungary travelling to the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 6 September, it is likely that both Johnston and Styles will be facing off against each other.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a blistering start to the campaign, providing three goal contributions in as many games.

Johnston has made 15 senior caps for his country, and scored two goals in six European Championship qualifiers.
