Gary Rowett can’t get enough of player West Brom now want to sign
West Brom are active in the transfer market, and are aiming to add to their squad before the transfer deadline.
The Baggies have enjoyed a strong start to the season under Ryan Mason, but extra reinforcements would help their push for promotion.
West Brom have already recruited several defenders, but after losing Torbjorn Heggem, more quality and depth in the back line would be welcomed.
Another Championship player has now been targeted, and he would certainly arrive with good reviews.

West Brom keen on Ben Nelson deal
West Brom are now keen on Leicester City defender Ben Nelson, who spent last season on loan at Championship side Oxford United.
The 21-year-old was impressive despite missing a chunk of the season through injury, and West Brom are now eager to recruit him.
- Nelson typically plays as a centre-back and made 17 appearances for Oxford, scoring once as he helped them stay up in the Championship.
- The England under-20 International has made 10 appearances for Leicester, scoring one goal.
Nelson earned rave reviews from former Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett, who managed him at Oxford, and claimed that the defender has the potential to play at a high level.
“He showed the potential which he’s got, which is to be a Premier League centre half,” he stated during his loan spell.
“I’d love to turn round and say we might be able to have a chance of keeping him, but I think the reality is he’s going to go to a bigger club.
“He’s probably going to end up playing for Leicester’s team if he’s not playing for a Premier League team next season. He’s got a bright future ahead of him.”

West Brom need more attacking players
Nelson would be a good signing in isolation, and a top prospect for the future, but he would also be the fourth centre-back signed this window.
Nat Phillips, George Campbell and Krystian Bielik have all arrived this summer, but this was offset by the departures of Heggem, Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley and Mason Holgate.
While recruiting in defence is fine, West Brom have signed just one attacking player in Aune Heggebo, and if they are to challenge at the top of the table, more quality in wide areas should be targeted before the transfer deadline.
