West Brom slammed as ‘atrocious’ final fee for Tom Fellows to Southampton set
West Brom favourite Tom Fellows is set to join Southampton in a transfer blow for Ryan Mason.
Southampton have been linked with a late-window move for Fellows, who has started all four of Albion’s matches this season.
West Brom‘s Championship rivals Southampton have freed up funds through the imminent big-money sale of Mateus Fernandes to West Ham.
And a new update now suggests a deal to take Fellows to St Mary’s is imminent, with Albion fans not taking the news well.

Southampton set to pay West Brom £10m for Tom Fellows
Mason made clear he was excited to work with Fellows when appointed as West Brom manager over the summer.
However, speculation linking Fellows with a West Brom exit has not gone away and it now looks as though he will finally be on his way out of The Hawthorns.
According to an update via The Athletic on 28 August, West Brom and Southampton have agreed on a package of £10million for Fellows.
That also includes a sell-on clause, with the Baggies said to consider it a good piece of business given Fellows’ exit is pure profit on the balance sheets.
But West Brom fans have not taken the news well, with many taking to social media to question why the Black Country club did not hold out for more.
One supporter called the news “atrocious”, while another simply added: “Disgusting”.
Will West Brom sign a replacement for Tom Fellows?
Losing Fellows is clearly a massive blow. There is no way to sugar-coat this exit.
However, the same report does also add that a replacement will be sought before the transfer window closes on 1 September.
Should this deal go through fairly quickly, as is looking likely, then that gives Shilen Patel and Co a few days over the weekend to bring in someone new.
Exactly who that will be remains to be seen, but the strengthen on Fellows’ replacement could well determine whether West Brom are capable of competing for promotion.
