West Brom fans besiege Shilen Patel as chairman posts amid ‘pathetic’ Tom Fellows news
Shilen Patel has come under fire from West Brom fans just days away from transfer deadline day.
The Baggies have had a bright start to the new Championship season, but there looks likely to be plenty of overhaul in the squad between now and the imminent cut-off.
Darnell Furlong left West Brom to join Ipswich Town on Thursday, and there is also now concerning news surrounding winger Tom Fellows.
Ryan Mason had previously made it clear that he was looking forward to working with the starlet, but he may now have already played his final game for the club.

Fans angry at Shilen Patel as ‘pathetic’ £10m fee agreed for Tom Fellows
West Brom have now agreed a £10million fee for Fellows, who looks set to complete a switch to Southampton in the coming days.
The 22-year-old has been tipped to have a big future ahead of him, and has drawn sustained interest from Everton this summer, which makes the update regarding Southampton something of a surprise.
The Baggies have seemingly been determined to fend off all interest in the youngster, who featured for England’s U21s in the Euros this summer, but their stance now appears to have changed drastically.
West Brom have also negotiated a sell-on clause as part of the deal, but it crucially features a much lower fee than many people connected to the club would have hoped for.
Fans have now turned their frustrations towards chairman Patel, after he posted a reaction to the Baggies agreeing a deal with a new nutrition and performance partner on Thursday.
- @LuvFootball44: “Selling Fellows for £10m is pathetic and makes us a laughing stock! Southampton must be laughing at you! Shocking deal!”
- @talkwba: “Hi Shilen, please tell me you have some replacements coming in. Tom Fellows’ deal was a bit weird but we all have 100% trust in you and Mr Nestor.”
- @_H74_9: “We love you, but what is that fee for Fellows Shilen?”
The Baggies faithful showed their discontent towards the Fellows deal in the replies, with one fan branding the £10m fee as “pathetic.”

West Brom fans have to trust Bilkul
Shilen Patel has been well received by West Brom fans since Bilkul took over the club back in February, but he will certainly have taken their frustration on board on this occasion.
Through the sales of Torbjorn Heggem, Furlong and Fellows, the B71 outfit will have made a substantial profit by Championship standards this summer, and the proof of Patel and Co.’s decisions will come in the manner in which the money is spent.
If high-quality replacements can be sourced while not harming the team’s chances, then fans may look back on some of the sales as positive decisions for the club.
They must trust that the hierarchy, who have proven themselves to be very considered and knowledgeable so far, can deliver strong alternatives.
However, if they can’t manage that, then the fans have every right to voice their concerns.
