West Brom now in talks to sign Brazilian forward as Tom Fellows replacement

West Brom are set for a busy end to their transfer window, with multiple sales expected.

After a fairly quiet summer, the Baggies’ business has sprung to life over the last couple of days.

Darnell Furlong completed a move from West Brom to Ipswich Town, while Caleb Taylor also looks set to move on.

On top of this, West Brom’s Tom Fellows is set to move to Southampton for £10million, much to the disappointment of supporters.

However, Ryan Mason is wasting little time finding a replacement for the 22-year-old.

West Brom begin talks to sign Leo Scienza

While West Brom have now confirmed the signing of Chris Mepham, an attacker is now needed.

However, Searching for a replacement for Fellows is no easy task so late in the transfer window.

Yet, according to the Daily Mail, page 73 on 29 August, the Baggies have begun talks to sign Leo Scienza.

The 26-year-old currently plays for FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga.

The winger has already had an empathic start to the season, netting three times in two matches.

Last season, Scienza was part of the side that reached the knockout phase of the Europa Conference League, with the Brazilian also scoring twice in the competition.

Now, it remains to be seen if the Baggies are able to get the deal over the line before the transfer window closes.

How good is Leo Scienza?

According to Fotmob on 29 August, Scienza was sensational last season in the Bundesliga.

The winger created chances with ease and was a more than capable dribbler.

Leo Scienza’s Bundesliga stats from the 2025/26 campaignPer 90 minutes
Goals 0.23
Shots 2.97
Chances created 2.65
Expected assists 0.32
Successful crosses2.11
Successful dribbles 2.89

Scienza also proved that he could defend, winning multiple duels that no doubt helped Heidenheim maintain their attacks.

Therefore, if the Baggies were to bring in the Brazilian, it could be a sensational buy, with the 26-year-old already performing to a great standard in the Bundesliga.
