West Brom could seal another loan transfer after Iling-Junior with medical now booked

West Brom could be set to add another new loan signing after Samuel Iling-Junior on deadline day.

The Baggies are still in the market for last-minute reinforcements, and it looks likely that they could still get a few deals done before the 7pm BST deadline on Monday.

Iling-Junior is edging ever closer to a West Brom switch, with the Aston Villa winger looking likely to complete a season-long loan move to B71 before the imminent cut-off.

Ryan Mason’s side have made a promising start to the campaign, but they will still be looking to provide the squad with a boost on the final day of summer business.

Iling-Junior in for medical as West Brom eye second deadline-day loan

West Brom have made rapid progress to land Iling-Junior in the last few days, and they now appear to have the 21-year-old firmly within their grasp.

The Villa youngster was part of the England squad that won this summer’s Euro U21 title, and he looks set to be playing his football at The Hawthorns for the foreseeable future.

Express and Star journalist Lewis Cox has reported via his X account that Iling-Junior is in for a medical ahead of the move being completed.

However, that might not spell the end of Albion’s business in the loan market.

Jonny Drury has reported via the Express and Star’s deadline day live blog that the Baggies could still be in for another couple of additions.

“It would be no surprise to see Albion do more business – maybe another loan or two,” he wrote.

Iling-Junior has big shoes to fill after Tom Fellows exit

Tom Fellows’ departure has rocked West Brom, with fans frustrated at the club’s decision to cash in on the starlet at this late stage of the window.

The 22-year-old has netted an initial £10million fee for his boyhood club as part of the move to join Southampton, but he has left Mason and Co. without their strongest creative outlet.

A capable replacement for Fellows was always going to be needed, and Iling-Junior will certainly need to hit the ground running if he is to make up for the wideman’s departure.

He already has ample Serie A experience, having spent time with both Juventus and Bologna, but then perhaps didn’t produce the goals and assists that were expecting of him during his stint with Middlesbrough last term.

Nevertheless, he is a bright young player with plenty of talent, and his arrival is certainly an exciting one for the Baggies.
