Ryan Mason gets deserved recognition for West Brom work as announcement made
West Brom have begun the season brilliantly as they sit second in the Championship after four matches.
Ryan Mason has not looked out of place in what his first managerial role, with ten points from 12 available representing a fantastic start to his reign in charge.
West Brom’s 1-0 win at Stoke before the international break has fans dreaming of a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2020-21.
Mason has gotten many plaudits for his work at West Brom so far, with an announcement being made as a result.

Ryan Mason nominated for Championship Manager of the Month
The EFL website announced that Mason is up for August’s Manager of the Month award, where he is up against Mark Robins, Frank Lampard and Rob Edwards for the award, having enjoyed a brilliant start to life at West Brom.
The announcement read: “Mason has taken smoothly to his first permanent managerial role, leading West Brom to ten points from four unbeaten games.
“He has impressed with his thoroughness and attention to detail as well as his player-friendly approach.”
Edwards is most likely to win the award, as his Middlesbrough side are top of the league, and have won four games from four.
Mason previously had two separate stints as the interim manager of Tottenham, yet was only in charge for 13 games between both spells.
His appointment at West Brom was exciting and risky at the same time, with Shilen Patel putting great faith in the 34-year-old.
Match | Result |

Portsmouth (h) | 1-1 |
Stoke (a) | 1-0 W |
Despite not being the nailed-on favourite to win the Manager of the Month award, it’s a promising sign of things to come for the Baggies.

West Brom’s smart recruitment a key reason for their great start
West Brom sold Torbjorn Heggem and also sanctioned Tom Fellows’ move to Southampton, yet Mason has seemed unfazed by this.
The additions of Nathaniel Phillips and Chris Mepham at the back show West Brom’s preference to use experienced defenders.
Samuel Iling-Junior’s loan move could be a promising addition, with the winger set to fill the void that was left by Fellows.
All-in-all, the future looks incredibly promising at West Brom, with Mason’s ambitious side hopeful of making a return to the Premier League.
