Furious West Brom fans all say the same two words as they lose vs Derby County
West Brom’s defeat to Derby County has sparked outrage after the Baggies lost their Championship unbeaten streak on Saturday afternoon.
The Hawthorns celebrated turning 125 as West Brom took on the Rams in a dramatic 90 minutes of football.
Albion’s undefeated run in the Championship was put to bed following West Brom’s 1-0 defeat to Derby County at home.
From second in the table, the Baggies will need to settle for fifth for now, with Portsmouth still able to overtake them when they play Southampton on Sunday, 14 September.
But it seems to be the same old, same old when it comes to Albion and Derby – something that has not escaped the fans’ notice.

West Brom fans all respond ‘Albion that’ to defeat
Former Albion player Andreas Weimann netted the winner against West Brom.
It was a chaotic affair. West Brom halted their attack on Derby as a pigeon was cleared from the pitch. Meanwhile, the Baggies saw the most chances, the majority of possession and overall dominance, but still smelt the stench of detat.
- West Brom had 67 per cent possession during the confrontation
- The Baggies took 18 shots compared to the visitors’ four
- The Rams scored from their only shot on target – Albion had three
As such, West Brom tarnished The Hawthorns’ 125th birthday with their wasted efforts in front of goals.
West Brom fans soon took to social media to express their discontent, writing the words “Albion that.” The phase is often used when the team plays particularly badly, and the occasion most definitely calls for such a response.
Taking to X on Saturday, 13 September, one fan said: “Alexa, define #AlbionThat.” Meanwhile, another added: “Every time without fail #AlbionThat.”
One more said: “Quite fitting on our 125 anniversary we put in the most #AlbionThat score line ever.”
Furthermore, one more chimed in: “When Albion plan a big day, you’re guaranteed three points off us #AlbionThat.” Another said: “Written in the stars eh #AlbionThat.”
One more added: “Called this when the fixtures came out #AlbionThat.”
What is West Brom’s recent record against Derby County?
The Baggies have suffered defeat twice to the Rams this season, with the first coming during West Brom’s Carabao Cup defeat to Derby.
While there is an argument to be made that Derby are Ryan Mason’s kryptonite, the same can be said about Albion.
West Brom have won just two in their last 14 games against the Rams, with their opposition winning eight matches. The two have drawn four games in what is a terrible record for the Baggies.
As such, Mason will already be thinking of how to turn the tide when Albion travels to the Pride Park Stadium later in the season.
