West Brom player ratings vs Derby – Mikey Johnston sensational, 3/10 woeful
West Brom were handed their first defeat of the Championship season against Derby County on Saturday.
West Brom celebrated 125 years at The Hawthorns against Derby County, over a century after their first home game against the Rams at the stadium.
Albion headed into the game on an unbeaten Championship streak. Before the international break, West Brom had secured a scrappy 1-0 win over Stoke City, which was hoped to give them an added boost when they welcomed the Rams.
Former Baggies player Andreas Weimann came on as a substitute to net the winner for Derby in a 1-0 to end their unbeaten run.

Mikey Johnston sensational against Derby County
Mikey Johnston was sensational for West Brom against Portsmouth, and he was the shining star for Albion against Derby.
Johnston was by far the most energetic during the afternoon, sending in several crosses for his teammates to latch onto.
An incredible ball for Chris Mepham from a corner, 35 minutes into the game, was one of the stand-out moments for the winger.
While he was also on the other end of a fantastic break for Albion, seconds into the second half. For a period of time, it seemed any hope West Brom had came from the winger who was a consistent threat throughout.

Jed Wallace disappoints for West Brom against Derby County
Jed Wallace was substituted off in the 72nd minute after a lacklustre performance for the Baggies.
Other than a great ball for Nat Phillips 40 minutes in, Wallace struggled to make his mark on the game.
- Wallace put in seven crosses but only managed one accurate ball
- The winger won zero ground duels during the game
The right winger was replaced by Samuel Iling-Junior, who signed for West Brom on deadline day. Albion’s right wing was transformed once the debutant made his entry, looking threatening the second he stepped onto the pitch.
