Isaac Price will meet his match in Middlesbrough vs West Brom showdown

Isaac Price has arguably been the standout performer for West Brom in the early stages of the new campaign.

The youngster got his first taste of the Championship last season after he completed his switch from Standard Liege in January, but he has already shown that he is ready to kick on this term.

West Brom have also watched on as Price continues to make a name for himself on the international stage, as his stock has seemingly been rising with every passing game in the last few weeks.

Ryan Mason and Co. will know that they have a hugely bright talent on their hands, but the attacking midfielder could finally be about to line up against his equal in the trip to Middlesbrough on Friday night.

Isaac Price to be rivalled by Hayden Hackne

West Brom already received interest in Price from the Premier League in the summer, and that is unlikely to die down anytime soon, given the way that he has been performing for the Black Country outfit.

The Northern Ireland international has quickly established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet for Mason, and he is relied upon to be the main creative outlet for his side.

It already looks to have been an inspired piece of business from the Baggies to bring the 21-year-old in for just £2.5million, and he looks sure to net them a significant profit whenever he does ultimately move on.

Price is already one of the Championship’s brightest young starlets, and on Friday night, he is set to go up against another of the division’s shining lights in Hayden Hackney.

The 23-year-old is now into his fourth full campaign in the second tier, and attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Everton recently.

The England youth international is a match for Price statistically so far this season, having created more big chances and completed more successful dribbles than the Albion star.

For his part, Price has produced more end product in terms of goal contributions and played more key passes.

The pair are certainly two of the Championship’s biggest talents, and the battle between them could decide the game on Friday night.

West Brom need to demand big money for Isaac Price

West Brom need to take a firm stance on Price’s future when January comes around.

The recent sales of Torbjorn Heggem and Tom Fellows mean that they are not necessarily in need of cash, and as a result, they are in no position to sell their new star unless they choose to.

Price is under contract until the summer of 2029, meaning Albion are in the position of luxury where they can effectively place whatever valuation they like on the starlet.

Solomon Rondon is currently Albion’s record sale from when he moved to China for a fee of around £15.8m, but it would be a huge surprise if Price doesn’t break that in the next few years.
