West Brom ace who’s blown fans away ruled out for months – here’s every game he’ll miss

West Brom haven’t had an easy ride when it comes to injuries in the last few months.

Josh Maja missed the entirety of the second half of the Championship season last term, and that severely disrupted the campaign for the B71 outfit.

Meanwhile, Daryl Dike is sidelined once again for West Brom as his torrid time continues with yet another injury lay-off preventing him from playing any part so far this season.

There are also a number of other injury issues currently present in Ryan Mason’s squad, and one star is now facing a lengthy period on the treatment table.

Alex Williams set to miss 16 games for West Brom

West Brom youngster Alex Williams caught the eye in the Carabao Cup defeat to Derby at the start of August, and many fans would have hoped for him to be more involved as the season progressed.

The 20-year-old recently made his Championship debut when he came off the bench in the latter stages of the win at Stoke City, but he will now have to wait a long time for his next appearance after suffering an injury on international duty.

Williams has undergone surgery for an ankle issue sustained during training with Wales U21s, and is likely to be out for around three months, according to the Express and Star.

The right-back could now be set to miss at least 16 games of Championship action for the Baggies, with a three-month absence due to see him sidelined until the middle of December.

The starlet received plenty of praise from Albion fans following his exceptional display on his senior debut, and many would surely have tipped him to play an increased role within the squad this term.

Injury issue is a major setback for Alex Williams

Williams would have hoped to break through at West Brom following his impressive opening outing, but his breakthrough into the senior fold has now been dealt a major blow.

His likely 16-game absence includes clashes against early high-flyers Middlesbrough, Leicester and Coventry, which are all games that could potentially be pivotal come the end of the season.

Perhaps more importantly, it also features encounters against likely strugglers in Oxford United, Charlton Athletic and Watford, which would have been perfect opportunities for Williams to earn more senior minutes.

Fans always like to see young, homegrown players burst onto the scene, but the Baggies faithful will have to wait a little while longer before they see Williams properly break through.
