Daryl Dike has left West Brom fans delighted amid their bitter rivalry with Wolves.

The Hawthorns faithful will undoubtedly be down and out right now after losing to Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on 29 September.

Ryan Mason has been without Dike this season after he picked up an injury back in August, but the striker is expected to return to action soon.

While the 25-year-old hasn't contributed much on the pitch, off it, he has certainly brought a smile to the faces of fans in B71.

Daryl Dike removes Wolves defender Ladislav Krejci from FIFA Ultimate Team as West Brom fans spot problem

Dike replaced Wolves defender Ladislav Krejci with West Ham United centre-back Igor Julio in his FIFA Ultimate Team.

The USA international shared a picture of his FC 26 starting lineup on his Instagram story, shared by Liam WBA 98 on X on 19 September, which included the Czechia international, who moved to the Molineux Stadium on an initial loan deal from Girona last summer.

It looks like the Baggies' centre-forward quickly realised the error and, in a separate Instagram story, thanked those who noticed Krejci.

Hopefully, Dike will be back in contention soon, as the Albion arguably need every goalscoring outlet they have after struggling in recent matches.

Ryan Mason makes errors in loss vs Middlesbrough

Aune Heggebo was culpable for Middlesbrough's first goal, failing to adequately mark David Strelec, who scored in the 26th minute in the Baggies' 2-1 loss.

It felt like the right game to start Josh Maja, who hasn't started in a single game for the Albion this season.

While the Nigeria international had been on the sidelines for quite some time, he's arguably the only proven goalscorer at the Black Country outfit's disposal.

  • The Baggies are now six points behind Middlesbrough.
  • Heggebo scored his first Championship goal against Boro.
  • Mason has now lost three of his seven games in charge at the Albion.

Mason also made the mistake of dropping Mikey Johnston for the starting lineup against Boro, and he eventually came on to provide the assist for Heggebo's late goal, which ultimately proved too little too late for West Brom.

The Baggies have now lost two league games in a row and face Leicester City next in the Championship on 26 September.

It will be interesting to see how the Albion will line up at The Hawthorns against the Foxes.
