Who’s who of West Brom’s board: From Shilen Patel to Andrew Nestor and more
West Brom have seen an upturn in prospects since Bilkul Football completed their long-awaited takeover from Lai Guochuan.
Shilen Patel has steadied the ship at The Hawthorns, with the Profit and Sustainability Rules not as big a concern as they were a few months back.
The Baggies have sold some of their key players in recent years for decent profit, with the most significant being Tom Fellows’ move to Southampton last summer.
While Patel has been at the forefront of the change at the Black Country outfit, he undoubtedly wouldn’t have been able to pull it off without some exceptional support in the boardroom.
Shilen Patel on top at West Brom
Patel is at the top of the food chain, serving as Chairman of the Baggies and concurrently also overseeing Bilkul Football Group.
The 45-year-old completed the takeover of the Albion in February, buying 87.8 per cent of the stakes at The Hawthorns for around £60million.
Since then, the Americans have had some misses in terms of decision-making, with the sale of Alex Palmer last season questioned by fans in B71 and Tony Mowbray’s appointment failing spectacularly.
However, the Black Country outfit will be hoping to right their wrongs this season, with Ryan Mason looking to lead them into the Premier League.

Andrew Nestor promoted to President at The Hawthorns
Patel is looking forward to seeing what Andrew Nestor can build at the Baggies after being promoted to President.
The 43-year-old, a member of Bilkul, was appointed Sporting Director following the takeover’s completion in B71.
Since then, Nestor has done an impressive job at The Hawthorns, with the recent additions like Nat Phillips and Chris Mepham in the previous transfer window standing out.
Now, with added responsibilities, it will be interesting to see how the restructured leadership team does at the Black Country outfit in the coming years.
Ashish Patel and Ethan Gobetz take their places in West Brom board
Ashish Patel, who’s also a member of Bilkul, has been appointed the Chief Marketing Officer at the Baggies.
As for Ethan Gobetz, he’s been brought in as the Chief Financial Officer, with more than 20 years of experience in the relevant sector.
Other members of the executive team include Director of Football Operations Ian Pearce, Director of Communication and Fan Engagement Ian Skidmore and Director of Finance Josh Bentley, among others.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Albion after an overhaul of the management team.
