‘Quite concerning’- Injury expert delivers worrying verdict on West Brom’s Daryl Dike
Daryl Dike has had a difficult time since arriving at West Brom in 2022.
Mason would have wanted all the tools at his disposal during Albion’s 2-1 defeat to Middlesbrough in the Championship.
This meant back-to-back defeats for the Baggies after Derby County defeated West Brom on their home turf the game before.
There is no doubt that the current Albion coach would like to see Dike return to help keep West Brom’s Premier League promotion hopes alive. But there could be another consideration the Baggies will need to make regarding the centre-forward.

This article contains exclusive comments from Injury Expert Dr Rajpal Brar.
Daryl Dike may not ‘return to pre-injury levels’
Dike has been sidelined for West Brom since their opening Championship win over Blackburn Rovers.
The striker has missed hundreds of days for the Baggies since signing in 2022 from MLS side Orlando City.
While Mason has updated West Brom fans on Dike’s recovery, Injury Expert Dr Brar – speaking exclusively to West Brom News – is concerned about whether he’ll return to pre-injury levels.
“As such, Albion could be forced to wait and see how his recovery develops on the pitch.
“His injury record is quite concerning,” Dr Brar said.
“Not only due to the dual achilles ruptures which of course is a major cautionary flag but the constant soft tissue injuries.
“Some players will get into vicious injury cycles that they just cannot get out of and it’s particularly concerning for a player like Dike who relies on that power and physicality as mentioned in the question.
“At this point, there is certainly concern he may not be able to return to pre-injury levels.”

How many days has Daryl Dike missed due to injury?
Dike has been off the pitch more than he has been on it since signing for the Baggies in 2022.
In three years, the centre-forward has made 43 appearances, scoring nine times and assisting twice.
- Dike has missed close to 786 days due to injury
- He has been sidelined for over 120 games
Interestingly, the striker missed 26 games and five matches in the season before transferring to the Baggies. This could be down to several reasons, and luck plays its role, but it is safe to say that Albion and Dike have not had is easy since he arrived.
