Erling Haaland would be proud of West Brom rising star who scored four first-half goals vs Birmingham

West Brom suffered back-to-back defeats in the Championship for the first time under Ryan Mason after losing to league leaders Middlesbrough last Friday.

Albion had to wait almost three full games to score a goal from open play, until Aune Heggebo scored a late consolation goal against Boro.

Baggies fans will be hoping Heggebo can now kick on after poor performances, especially since learning further disappointing news on Daryl Dike’s injury struggles.

This comes after Albion were dealt a huge blow as youth product Tom Fellows departed for fellow promotion rivals Southampton this summer. However, one emerging talent could soon bring a spark back to Albion’s attack.

Rio Parmar did his best Erling Haaland impression against local rivals

Erling Haaland, one of the deadliest strikers in the world, is known for his ability to score goals in rapid succession. Most recently scoring five against Moldova during the last international break.

Albion youth starlet Rio Parmar has showcased a similar tendency of ruthlessness when he scored four goals in 45 minutes in his last appearance for West Brom’s Under-18s.

Albion fans will be delighted to know that the four goals came in an 8-2 victory against Birmingham City, of all teams.

Parmar against Birmingham:

Glowing reviews of Parmar’s performance followed. “Although the hosts scored to level the game at 2-2, the Baggies’ main man showed his quality once again – capitalising on some more uncertain play at the back to rob possession, enter the 18-yard box, and provide a delicate chip to claim his third of the match”, as quoted by West Brom‘s official website.

Parmar has undoubtedly made a strong claim to feature in Albion’s matchday squads in the future.

Ryan Mason should give Rio Parmar his debut

Parmar is known as a right-winger, and with Jed Wallace now coming to the back end of his career, it could be the perfect opportunity for Mason to give Parmar a chance.

A right-footed winger, Parmar could be the direct replacement for Fellows for the cost of £0.

Head coach Mason is experienced at dealing with young talent after a stint working with Tottenham’s youth academy. His experience could prove vital in developing Parmar, and his debut could come as early as this Friday against Leicester City.
