West Brom vs Leicester City preview: Team news, likely lineups, score prediction

West Brom will be looking to avoid three consecutive league defeats when they face newly relegated Leicester City on Friday night.

Ryan Mason shared his disappointment at West Brom’s loss to Middlesbrough, which sealed his second league defeat as the Baggies boss.

After West Brom had a good start in the Championship under Mason, it could all start looking pear-shaped with a third consecutive defeat.

West Brom fans have demanded changes to be made ahead of their game on Friday.

Mason and his men will be seeking a big win against a promotion-chasing side, and with that in mind, West Brom News previews the clash between the two promotion hopefuls.

Team News

Mason made three substitutions in the game against Middlesbrough, with starting line-up changes for Leicester expected.

Fans want Mason to end the George Campbell experiment at right-back, as new signing Alfie Gilchrist waiting to swoop in and steal his place.

Daryl Dike has suffered another injury setback and will most likely not be involved on Friday. Josh Maja is in contention to return to the starting line-up and would give the Baggies a much-needed boost up top.

Rio Parmar was on fire against Birmingham City in Albion U18s’ 8-2 victory, scoring four goals in 45 minutes. Mason may involve the starlet for the first time this season.

The Foxes’ main attacking threat is Abdul Fatawu, who has started the season on fine form and will most likely be up against Albion’s Callum Styles.

Prediction: West Brom 1-1 Leicester City

The game against Leicester will again prove how well Mason’s team can deal with opposition that will be at the top end of the division come May.

Preston and Oxford United both took points off the Foxes, as the latter’s start hasn’t been perfect.

Leicester have struggled to find major success in the final third this year and West Brom‘s solidity might prove another tough test for Cifuentes’ men.

It’s a Friday night under the lights, The Hawthorns will be buzzing, and we can see the atmosphere playing a big part in the game.

With that in mind, West Brom News is predicting a 1-1 draw between two teams who will hope to be competing at the top end of the table come the end of the season.
