David Prutton makes West Brom prediction vs Leicester – ‘that would be crazy’
West Brom host Leicester City at the Hawthorns on Friday in a match where both teams are looking to entrench their promotion credentials.
The two clubs last faced off back in April 2024, where West Brom fell to a 2-1 defeat away at the King Power Stadium.
West Brom have not beaten Leicester at home since 2010 and have not defeated them at all since a 2-1 triumph in 2016, when they finished midtable in the Premier League.
West Brom face off with Leicester in a game where the Baggies are itching to return to winning ways after back-to-back defeats to Derby County and Middlesbrough and will be aiming to make the most of home advantage at The Hawthorns.

David Putton doesn’t expect West Brom to beat Leicester
Leicester themselves have hit somewhat of a blip having drawn their past two fixtures with Oxford United and Coventry City.
Indeed, the Opta supercomputer predicts West Brom will defeat Leicester in a game where the two sides are aiming to show their promotion credentials.
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton, speaking on the Essential EFL podcast, said it would be silly to put too much emphasis on the result of the fixture for either side given how long there is left in the season.
However, he did not predict a win for either team as he plumped for 2-2 draw in Friday’s contest.
Statistics | West Brom | Leicester City |
Goals Scored | 7 | 8 |
Big Chances | 10 | 12 |
Big Chances Missed | 6 | 8 |
He said: “Six games in, shall we go sensationalist and say it’s a six-pointer? Let’s not, that would be crazy. It would help the numbers, though, wouldn’t it?
“There’s enough attacking intent and quality in both sides to be able to duke it out at the top end of the Championship.”

West Brom need to be more clinical
Both sides have struggled to put away their chances so far this season, missing a combined 14 big chances between them in only six games.
West Brom have struggled with injuries this season, with summer signing Krystian Bielik sidelined as well as attackers Daryl Dike and Karlan Grant.
Midfielder Isaac Price has scored four times for club and country this season but Mason will want to see much more output from his forward players to help maintain a push for promotion.
If they are to get back to winning ways then they simply have to be more clinical and doing so against Leicester woul represent the perfect start in doing just that.
