West Brom have Daryl Dike priority after double injury update at The Hawthorns

Ryan Mason will have all eyes on him as West Brom face Leicester City in the Championship on Friday.

The English manager started the season well with the Baggies but now finds himself in a tight spot after losing back-to-back games against Derby County and Middlesbrough.

Leicester will travel to The Hawthorns on 26 September as the Albion look to climb up the table after falling to seventh.

Mason should axe Aune Heggebo for Josh Maja in the starting lineup against the Foxes, with the striking department lacking depth and reliability.

Daryl Dike should be sold in January as fitness issues persist, Tammer Bany back in training

Daryl Dike and Tammer Bany are being reintegrated into training after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Mason shared.

The English manager believes the October international break will be crucial for the duo to return to full fitness at The Hawthorns, following consistent issues over the last few months.

With the USA international’s current contract expiring in 2026, the Baggies should look to sell him in January to free up some space in their budget for a new centre-forward.

Speaking to the media on 25 September, Mason said: “They’re getting integrated back into training now. So it’s just how long it takes them to get up to match speed because they’ve both been out for a long time. Not just this injury.”

Tammer Bany needs to make impact at The Hawthorns after return

Bany is certainly one of the youngsters to keep an eye on at The Hawthorns, but the 21-year-old needs to remain fit consistently.

The Danish and Palestinian citizen showed glimpses of his talent at the Baggies after arriving in February 2025, but injuries have marred him since then.

While fans in B71 have high hopes for the centre-forward, they will undoubtedly lose patience if he can’t make himself available regularly.

Heggebo has had an underwhelming start to life at West Brom, and Mason certainly needs more options up front.

With Maja also injury-prone, it would make sense for Albion to try to offload Dike in January and buy someone capable of supporting the team.

Hopefully, the American striker and Bany can return soon to assist the Black Country outfit in their busy period.
