Leicester City could inflict unwanted three-year first on West Brom at The Hawthorns
West Brom are out to return to winning ways when they welcome Leicester City to The Hawthorns on Friday.
The Baggies suffered back-to-back defeats against Derby County and Middlesbrough to leave themselves just outside the play-off spots.
Ryan Mason‘s side dominated the Derby game with 68 per cent possession, conceding Derby’s only shot on target in the game.
Despite the disappointing loss, the Baggies know a win against Leicester can put them right back on track and entrench their early season position among the promotion hopefuls.

Leicester City could break West Brom’s impressive home streak
Leicester could inflict a three-year first at The Hawthorns on Friday with a win over the home side.
West Brom have not lost consecutive games at The Hawthorns since October 2022, when they failed to beat both Bristol City and Sheffield United.
The Baggies’ home form has been hugely impressive in recent years and has helped them challenge for the playoffs consistently since their relegation back in 2021.
Mason will not want to be the manager who breaks this impressive home streak and will need his players, such as Mikey Johnston, to continue their fine form for West Brom.
West Brom will be desperate for revenge against Leicester, having won just one of the previous 11 competitive fixtures between the sides, while they have not defeated the Foxes on home turf since 2010.
Teams | Wins | Goals scored |
Leicester City | 8 | 22 |

West Brom’s struggles away from home
Although the Baggies’ home form is impressive, they have struggled away from home in recent years.
This away record of just four wins last season was certainly a big reason as to why they missed out on the play-offs.
Last term was also hindered by too many draws, and picking up points on home turf you feel will once again be vital to their hopes of making the top six at a minimum.
Turning their 11 draws into wins was crucial in them missing out. Sunderland won nine games away from home, 10 more points than the Baggies.
West Brom were beaten by Middlesbrough last time out, which represents their only defeat away from home in this still infant campaign.
