West Brom can inflict ultimate embarrassment on Norwich City as unwanted first awaits

West Brom have the opportunity to flip some of their recent woes on their head against Norwich City on Wednesday night.

The Baggies have now gone three games without a win in the Championship, after an impressive start to the season saw them enjoy a four-match unbeaten run to open the campaign.

West Brom conceded in stoppage time against Leicester City last Friday, as they were held to a draw in a game where they had plenty of chances to put daylight between themselves and their visitors.

Frustration has been mounting for Ryan Mason’s side in recent weeks, but they now have the chance to put that behind them and inflict some pain of their own on their hosts at Carrow Road.

Norwich have never started a season with four consecutive home losses

The trip to Norwich provides a great opportunity for West Brom to put a stop to their winless run.

Their hosts on Wednesday night have won just one of their last six games in all competitions, and are enduring a disappointing start under their highly-rated coach Liam Manning.

The Canaries have been beaten on all three of their league outings on home turf so far this term, and that leaves the door open for Albion to inflict an embarrassing moment of history on them in Norfolk.

Norwich have never started a league campaign with four consecutive home defeats in their history, according to BBC Sport, but that is exactly the prospect that is facing them against the Baggies.

When you throw in the 3-0 defeat to Southampton in Carabao Cup action at the end of August, Manning’s men are on a four-match losing run at Carrow Road.

Mason and Co. will be desperate to exploit their recent struggles in the upcoming clash, which appears to have fallen at the perfect moment for them to go and claim the three points.

Ryan Mason has to name an attacking West Brom team

Samuel Iling-Junior scored on his first West Brom start last time out, and he will surely have done enough to keep his shirt for the trip to Norwich.

The Black Country outfit have had issues in front of goal in recent weeks, and as a result, Mason should surely be looking to name an XI that is likely to get his team on the front foot.

Josh Maja spurned a great opportunity to put the Leicester game to bed, but he is by far the most natural finisher at the club, and should be one of the first names on the team sheet given the circumstances.

The Baggies should be looking to exploit Norwich’s frailties on their home pitch, and if they can get themselves ahead, it could expose their hosts’ lack of confidence yet again.

They have a fantastic opportunity to end their recent struggles on Wednesday night, and they simply cannot afford to pass it up.
